Overview

Turn 5 - Twintania

The final turn of the first part of The Binding Coil of Bahamut is significantly more challenging then any of the previous turns. With multiple phases, all of which introduce a different set of mechanics, this fight may take many hours of practice to get comfortable it. I recommend learning each phase separately, especially Phase 2 and 3 which requires players to react quickly.

Recommended Party Comp: 1 WHM, 1 SCH, 2 Tanks, 4 DPS (At least 1 Caster, 1 Melee)

Set-up
Make two groups of 4 excluding MT: Including a pet. Other pets should stand away from the groups

Alternate: Form two groups but one of the groups contains the OT and two pets (requires SCH and SMN). Any member targeted with Fireball should run into this group. The none OT group can spread out to make seeing the icons easier.

P1 Pull:
After buffs, OT should run in after Succor + Adloquiem (Galvanize). OT should always use a defensive CD to start the pull to avoid dying at the start. Following after, the MT should immediately build aggro on Twintania and pull her to the first Neurolink spot. All other party members should spread but avoid the path the MT will take to reposition Twintania (she frontal cones).
Focus down one add at a time then position behind Twintania.

P2 ~85%?: Reposition after first Fireball, get in groups and prepare for Fireball/Conflagration stage. This phase will always start with Fireball and alternate between Fireball and Conflagration:

If Fireballed: Run into Conflag if up, otherwise stay stacked up (Or run to OT group if running SCH + SMN strategy)
If Conflagged: Always run under Twintania - directly under her center and pray your DPS doesn't suck

Burn DPS CD's for fast Conflags (2nd, 4th, 6th, etc)
If both healers are in Conflag, MT should run into Conflag to avoid dying due to lack of heals.

Once around 55%?, Neurolink 2 drops.

P3 Dive bomb:
Immediately after the second Neurolink drops from Twintania, stack up at the Dive Bomb ditch. Twintania will use Dive Bomb three times in succession followed by spawning three adds then Dive bombs again after X seconds. Avoid all Dive Bombs by running up the hill the moment the icon appears then running back down after she swoops down. When adds spawn, MT should grab the large snake while the OT grabs the two small snakes. DPS both small snakes to around ~50% hp then attack the large snake. Before the second set of Dive Bomb begins, stack up again with the adds still being tanked.

P3 end:
Immediately following the 6th Dive Bomb, the party should run to the designated kill spot. OT should run ahead and grab the two new small snake adds then use CDs to survive (Hallowed, etc) while a caster DPS uses Limit Break to quickly kill the first two small snakes. Kill the remaining two small snakes, then
kill the Big snake. Afterwards MT go to one Neurolink (2), rest go to other (1). Wait for big ass AOE and heal up. After she lands, MT takes boss to Neurolink 3 position

P4: Twisters and Dreadknights
At the start of this phase, everyone should have Twintania focus targeted to watch for Twisters and spread out around the area. When Twister is cast, everyone should run in a small circle, not retracing steps, and not running into other party members path. If hit, Twister will instantly kill.
Throughout the phase, Dreadknights will spawn and Twintania will target a random party member (not top two aggro) who will then be unable to move or act. The Dreadknight will walk towards the affected party member and if it reaches them, it will instantly kill the target and move on to the next target. Dreadknights can be afflicted by CC including stuns, heavy, and bind. Plan out CC responsibilities before this phase (PLD on stun, etc). Twintania can still cast Twisters so watch keep an eye on Twintania's cast bar.
At X% hp, Twintania begins her fifth and final phase after dropping her final Neurolink. She should not be moved.

P5: Hatch and Liquid Hell.
Twintania periodically spawn a Hatch directly under her center which targets a random party member. OT should stand in a neurolink directly under her to intercept all Hatches that spawn. Make sure that Twintania's center is positioned directly over the OT in the neurolink. Twintania will also target a random party member (including MT/OT) and cast Liquid Hell back to back 5 times. Targeted party members should run around the outer area to minimize damage. If MT, slowly circle Twintania to keep her centered. If OT, pop Hallowed if available or switch with a melee while running away. Reposition Twintania to another Neurolink if things go bad.

Mechanics

Fireball

Beginning in Phase 2, Twintania will target a random party member that isn't the tank or the 2nd in aggro (usually OT) with Fireball. Fireball will deal a large amount of damage spread across all targets in an AoE. Each target hit will give Twintania a stack. Each stack shortens the time for Conflagration before it explodes.

Conflagration

Conflagration will target a random party member excluding the first two aggro (usually MT, OT). The target will be marked with a blue circle and shortly after be encased in a large fire dome. The target with take low periodic damage and will unable to perform any actions. Any party members inside the area of effect will also be affected. After a duration, the conflagration will explode dealing massive damage to all players inside the conflagration (any where on the red, even if the player can still move/act). While inside, players will unable to be affected by anything outside the conflagration including damage and heals. The duration before which Conflagration explodes can be reset by running a party member afflicted with Fireball inside.

Dive Bomb

In Phase 3, Twintania will fly up and target a random party member with Dive Bomb. Shortly after, she will swoop down dealing heavy damage and knocking back all players caught in her swoop. Players can be knocked into the firewall, instantly killing them. During this phase, Twintania will use Dive Bomb for a total of 6 times, with a small ~X second pause after the 3rd Dive Bomb (Adds spawn).

Neurolink

Neurolink drops from Twintania after ending phases 1, 2, and 4. Standing in a Neurolink will allow players to survive the large stage-wide AoE from Twintania during her transition from Phase 3 to Phase 4 as well as reduce the damage taken from Hatch during Phase 5 by a significant amount.

Twister

Throughout Phase 4, Twintania will cast Twister which targets 4 random party members including the MT and OT. Twisters will spawn anywhere along a player's path during the cast of Twister. If the player is in range with a Twister, it will explode and instantly kill whoever is in the blast. Twisters can be avoided by moving during its cast and not retracing steps until the Twisters expire.

Dreadknight

Throughout Phase 4, Twintania will spawn a Dreadknight in the center of the area and target a random party member (excluding top two aggro). The Dreadknight will move towards the marked player who will be unable to move or act until the Dreadknight dies. The Dreadknight can be slowed, stunned, binded, etc but not slept. Should the Dreadknight reach its target, the marked player will instantly die and a new target will be marked.

Liquid Hell

Like Phase 1, Liquid Hell deals a moderate amount of damage upon impact and deals damage over time should a player stand in the area of effect. It can be avoided as it targets a player's position at the beginning of Liquid Hell's cast. During Phase 5, Twintania will cast a total of 5(?) Liquid Hells at the target consecutively.

Hatch

During Phase 5, Twintania will periodically create a Hatch directly under her center which will then move towards a marked party member (excluding MT). When the Hatch collides with a player, it will deal a large amount of damage. This damage can be reduces greatly by standing in a Neurolink. Hatch can be intercepted by other players, including MT and OT.
